Eunjung Choe

Born in Seoul, Korea, Eunjung is now an artist based across the Pacific Ocean in Vancouver, Canada, where she is currently studying to get her Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2021. Her work focuses on exploring surrealistic nature and imaginary worlds, which she likes to pull from observing everyday people’s lives. She is inspired by 1920’s era illustration, such as Kay Nielsen, and Virginia Frances Sterrett, as well as Japanese woodblock print, and cultural folklore. Using mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolours and digital tools, she believes character creation, concept design, and book illustration are powerful modes of storytelling and communication, which she strives to establish in her own practice.
